Myer is looking for a motivated Junior Category Buyer to help deliver a compelling and profitable Myer Exclusive Brands range, specifically for Sleepwear and Swimwear . You’ll work closely with the Senior Category Buyer while taking ownership of the end‑to‑end management and financial performance of your aligned Category.

About the Role
Develop and execute product strategies aligned with Myer’s overall strategy and target customer segments
Set competitive brand price architecture to meet commercial goals
Analyse competitors and trends to ensure product relevance and market fit
Drive sales, profit, and stock performance through effective trading and tactical actions
Partner with Planning to build assortment plans, product strategies, and sourcing approaches
Optimise profitability through product development and lifecycle management
Lead range development, order placement, and overall category performance working closely with Myer sourcing team
Deliver category marketing plans in collaboration with Planning
Oversee execution across marketing, store planning, and visual merchandising
Support supplier negotiations to achieve strong commercial outcomes
Own financial performance including budgets, pricing, and key metrics
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
Collaborate cross-functionally with Planning, Buying, Design, and Store teams
Influence stakeholders and mentor junior team members
Apply insights from customer, market, and store demographics to drive decisions
About You:
2–3 years’ experience in a Buyer/Developer Trainee role or similar
Strong product development and production knowledge
Ability to identify trends and market opportunities
Experience in sourcing and supplier management
Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
Solid retail, financial, and commercial acumen
Sound understanding of manufacturing processes
Relevant qualification in Fashion, Merchandising, Business, Commerce, or similar (preferred)
